Ghenwa’s inspiration ~

I was born in one of the most beautiful countries in the world ~ in my eyes ~ Beirut, Lebanon! A country surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea as its foreground and a series of different shades of green mountains as a background. Can you imagine me not being passionate about art? This rich surrounding of colors, sunshine and light inspired me to major in Fine Art. In 1996, I graduated from the Lebanese American University with a BA in Fine Arts and a minor in Graphic Design.

In 1998, I moved to California where I became the mother of two loving children, as well as a Montessori preschool teacher for creative groups of children. Life may take you in different directions but what is inside you will always lead you to the right path! The artist inside me motivated me to inspire my students to learn, grow, create and shine through art, drama and dance. During my work as a Montessori preschool teacher, I encountered different visions about the importance of art in early childhood. I discovered that when a child expresses himself/herself creatively through art, he/she will be stepping out as an individual with unique ideas, dreams, goals and compositions. Young minds shine through art. It brings out all the emotions, experiences, dreams, thoughts, and imagination hidden inside them. This discovery initiated my dream of building an educational community grounded in the arts. In 2015, Ushine, a unique environment where individuals imagine, create and express was born. Ushine programs inspire the mind of young students as well as their parents to appreciate the importance of art in their life and inspire them to reconnect with the dormant artist inside them.

Imagine. Express. Create
